TC Motoring Guild General Meeting

. . 'Twas a glorious evening as the members of the Guild met for the traditional 4th Tuesday gathering. Ron was rarrin' to go as he smacked the gavel down (and it was only 8:12 p.m.).

. . First item on the list was to embarrass the past president with a plaque of appreciation indicating David had survived his term last year without scandals, and lived to tell about it. Actually it was worded much nicer than that and was appreciated.

. . Bob Goldstein gave a report on Stan Roman's condition. While not out of the woods yet he seems to be getting better. His color is good, watches TV, sleeps, but still can't taste that wonderful hospital food. Would be in the hospital for 2-3 more weeks.

. . Minutes from the last meeting were read and no corrections were made.

Treasurer/Membership report by Joyce indicated that we had 86 membership renewals to date. Names of those who had not renewed were read off and volunteers took it upon themselves to give them a reminder call. Club expenses so far this year have been $1,089.74 and an income of $2,835.48. We have a bank balance of $5,045.57. Newsletter expenses are about $60 a month to put out and mail the Midget Chassis.

. . Program chair, Stan Belland, told us about tonights program that will be a panel relating their experiences with car shows and concours. George Kershaw explaining spark plugs will be our program for May and Mike Goodman will answer questions in June. (Mike has only gotten one question so far so be sure to yours in to him.) Someone asked why a flyer had not been sent out on the meeting for this month. Stan indicated that we tried to save duplicating mailings and that the notice had been in the newsletter that just went out. Quite a few people missed the full page notice and the note on the front cover. It was decided that we should go back to sending out a separate flyer.

. . A report on the Pique Nique Tour indicated that the weather prevailed and it was a very, very pleasant event. Six TC's plus a TD and a Ford wound through the back roads to the Pique Nique site where the Wilmers unpacked a very elegant spread. Joe said it was fun watching the bocce ball game with everyone measuring to see who did and didn't come the closest.

. . Joe mentioned he went on a scouting trip looking for poppy flowers for a possible wild flower run, but alas, except for one small grouping of poppies the earth was bare. Maybe next year.

. . The Palm Springs tour planning is coming along nicely. Mike Goodman indicated that a trial run out will be done next week and packets will be made up to hand out at the hotel on Friday with the itinerary, directions and all related info.

. . Joyce is still searching for a locale for the clubs Holiday party in December. She has gotten information on several places in San Diego and is expecting calls from several other places.

. . With no other business to discuss we broke for refreshments and let the program panel set up.

. . Minutes submitted by Secretary, David Edgar
