March 26,
TC Motoring Guild General Meeting

Ron Simon swung the gavel down at 8:15 pm and everyone quieted down and took their seats. We began with an introduction of our guest speaker, Carl Cederstrand, although he really didn't need introducing as everyone seemed to know him already.

Minutes of the February meeting were presented. One correction was made in that the Wilmers are also going on the Alaska cruise. Should be a great trip.

Treasurer and membership chair, Joyce Edgar said we now have 79 members who have sent in their dues for 2002. She has also collected $243 in advertising. For year to date we have an income of $2552.48 and expense of $920.20 with a bank balance of $4,880.11.

Upcoming events are the Piquenique on April 6th and the Palm Springs run in May. It was questioned if we were going to have a wild flower tour this year. Joe said there was not much in the way of flowers this year.

Our program chair was out of town so did not give a report (or if he did we could not hear him as he was too far away). Our next meeting, however will be on April 23rd and be a Panel on Concourse - Showing your car - How they are judged.

Dave asked how the recent Midget Chassis survived the postal system. Everyone seemed to like the format. Suggestions on keeping up a monthly issue but retain the full size Classic Chassis for a couple times a year were made. Deadline for the May issue is April 9th.

Bob Wilmer said he was cleaning out old regalia stock. He brought the last of some jackets and shirts to sell at bargain prices.

And now it was time for Tony to present his raffle prize items, but alas there was no Tony. Maybe he was visiting Stan our program chair as he was not here either.

We broke for refreshments and to let Carl set up his demonstration on "Rewinding the Electromagnetic Windings in the SU Fuel Pump."

Minutes submitted by David Edgar

Carl explaining the forces involved in his usual animated style.
Mike and Pete help steady the weight tower on the winding contraption.

Phil in awe of how well Carl talks with his hands.
Maybe Phil will learn to do that one day.

Here the copper wire starts winding onto the pump core. Eventually there will be 685 turns, 166 feet and 11 layers of wire on the core.

Annabel, Bobbie, Joyce and Sharon plotting the next technical meeting program. Bobbie shows her displeasure as Ron told her tonights discussion was going to be on rewinding a MixMaster motor.

Sharon went on information overload and had to take a break. Suzanne Annabel and Bobbie are fast approaching the same state as their eyelids are beginning to droop.
