Ron had some competition as he brought the meeting to order at 8:16 pm. You see Game 5 of the Lakers/Kings playoffs were underway and Larry Einhorn (and a few others) were interested in the outcome. Dave read the minutes of the last meeting and were accepted without correction. Lakers up by 2. Joyce presented the treasurers/ membership report with and income of $3,090 to year-to-date and $1,461 in expenses. While we have a $4,928 bank balance, we have only $2,550 in funds not earmarked for specific expenditures. We brought in two new memberships (Koskie and Olson) from our web site which brings us up to 95 members at this time. |

We were updated on Stan Roman's conditon. While not any worse, he is not better either. We should continue to keep him in our prayers. OH NO! Kings got a 3 pointer and are in the lead now. The Palm Springs Weekend got rave reviews. Many, many thank you's to the Goodmans and Einhorns. Perfect weather, company, location and, oh yes, perfect little English TC's. Everyone is anxious for next years repeat. And speaking of next year, in addition to the Follies, both Peter, Paul & Mary as well as the Four Freshmen will be in town. While everyone enjoyed the Follies immensely most voted to see another show next time if we saw a show at all. We had no tour plans made up for June so as not to conflict with GoF West. No plans for tours in July, August or September either at this time. We like waiting till the last minute. October brings us the Conclave and the rooms were filling up fast so get your reservations in soon. Lakers dribble, pass, and dunk to gain the lead again. |
For our program tonight, George Kershaw will be sharing some of what he has learned with his years working with Fram and NGK. Mike Goodman will be answering questions (submit them in advance) on TC's for the June meeting. Tony Henkels had his usual display of raffle ticket prizes and said he was going to try to get more TC related prizes in the future. Minutes submitted by (Oh yes, the Kings took the game by one point.) |

George and assistant, Kevin begin tonights program. Change that oil filter at every oil change. Going to one of the spin-on adaptors makes it quite easy. For our TC's you don't need the fancy, smancy double and triple guard filters. The standard grade Fram will do the XPAG engine just fine. For those with a XPEG engine with horizontal mount filter, make sure you use a filter with an anti drain valve. |
Kevin holds up an sample of an air filter. A dirty filter (up to a point) is more efficient in filtering out smaller particles. Need to account for air flow though. Our TC mesh air filters are very poor at filtering. Going to a paper filter is strongly suggested. Bolt on units work or adapt your original can to accept a paper element. |
Phil explains how his spin-on oil filter adapters are cross drilled to allow oil to flow through the filter in the proper direction. Once it is drilled he then "COMMANDS" the oil to flow that way with by pointing his finger. (smile) |
Sharon laughs at discovering this is a filter for oil. She has been pulling them off Mike's shelves for years to use as coffee filters. |
The discussion on spark plugs was quite interesting. Watch the heat range. Hotter engines usually run cooler plugs and vice versa. A good range for our TC's is in the BR5HS or BR6HS area. Read your plugs (look at the coloring) and adjust if necessary. |
George (at the urging of Kevin to clean out the garage) encourages everyone to take some of the free corporate give aways. Sharon wants to know if any of them come with a Mickey Mouse logo on them. |
