V.P. Ron Simons was filling in for Stan tonight and must have gotten specific instructions to start on time as right at 8:00 he brought the meeting to order. Ron went through the mail bag and then we dispensed with the reading of the minutes as it was reported in the last Midget Chassis. Next up was Joyce with the Treasurer/Membership Report. We have incurred a total of $1,704 in expenses so far this year and brought in $2,938 leaving us with $6,690 in funds. We still have $3,765 more in budgeted expenses which leaves us with about $2,925 in reserve. Joyce also reported we are at 92 members and a list of non-renewals were posted on the wall. |
| David Coleman reported on our upcoming events. He apologized for not staying up on events but job schedules prevented him from making the last couple meetings. GoF is enough for July. August and September are open. October is the Conclave at Sky Ranch. A November weekend is a possibility in November with the Crandals taking over. David requested that people phone him if they had an interest in setting up future tours. |

A collaborative report on the June Dam Tour was given by those members that attended. Four TC's made it out for the perfect weather day. Joe Douglas had his out as well as Jon & Betsy Lutz. Paul & Kathy Gulsrud got their TC out again for their second Guild tour this year as did Gene Olson (one of the organizers of the tour) doing a second shake down tour in his TC. Also on the tour in "other makes" were Tony & Cindy Henkels, Bob & Annabel Goldstein, Bob & Charlotte Wilmer, Arnold Douglas (Joe's son on a Triumph motorcycle) and Jay and Jackie Call (the other half of the tour planners). Jackie is the expert in geology and gave a great explanation of why the dam failed to stay put and let the water out. Cindy brought a notebook filled with pictures she found on the internet showing the destruction and some history of the dam collapse. Gordon Glass was next up with future meeting programs. July is our Annual Picnic. We decided to move this meeting up a day to Monday, July 21 so as to not conflict with the GoF Auction Dinner. It will be held at the Henkels home and we can see the huge MG "L" (as in Lincoln) they sold their TC to get. In August Tony will give a report on his Lincoln. September is a repeat of Old Movie Night and will be held at the Simon Museum (see report and pictures of last years meeting). Our November meeting will be moved to Monday to accommodate our guest speaker "Al Moss." While Gordon had the floor he related a story (warning) to us on the use of cheap torque wrenches. DON'T USE THEM ! ! Trash them as they can do more harm than good. We broke for the delicious "Donut Man" Strawberry treats brought by Art & Sarah Ludwick. We missed them last year at the Donut Man tour as they were out of season (the strawberries, not Art & Sarah). After the break there was the raffle with our upgraded prizes. We heard a report on Stan Roman that while his heart seems to be doing good, he is experiencing kidney problems now. He was to go in the day after the meeting to be evaluated and see what could be done. We also announced that Don McLish was found on the non-renewing member list on the wall and as he was at the meeting, he paid up and is back in standing with the Guild. He had even driven his TC to the meeting. With the business part of the meeting over we next were enlightened in what it takes to come up with prize winning floats at the Rose Parade by Art Ludwick, first and foremost a TC Motoring Guild member and secondly, V.P. at Rainbird. |
