February 25th,
TC Motoring Guild General Meeting

The meeting was called to order by president Stan Belland at 8:01 pm. Wait a minute, we never start that early - is my watch broken? Not a chance to check as Stan moves right along and into the mail bag.  Along with all the usual show notices and stuff was an email from Patrick and Laura Mauch, former Guild members who now live in Florida. They had seen the club web page and made contact with several of our members to let us know they miss fun times they had with us.

Moving along Stan introduced several guests. First off was Bill Stone who while not having his TC any longer came by to say "Hi."  Bill had been the president back in '57 or '58.  Our guest speaker Bill Motta was introduced and then Alan Campbell was introduced. Alan actually is a member of the Guild but came this night to promote the Classic Car Club of America, of which he and his wife, Victoria, are very active in.  They have a TA as well as several Rolls. If you are interested in the CCCA you can visit their web site at socalccca.org for more information.

Bill Motta was our guest speaker. Bill was art director for Road & Track Magazine for many years and also an excellent artist as well. He has done many a TC (including Glass' TC) as well as other MG's (including Thelander's NE).

Next up was the reading of the minutes of February but we voted to accept them as posted in the newsletter.

Joyce was next with the treasurer and membership reports. We have $6,535 in the bank but have $4,091 of expenses budgeted so have $2,543 to play with.  Membership stands at 85 renewals so far.

Bob Wilmer, could not make it tonight but gave Stan info that the location of Sky Ranch was now confirmed as the location for this years Conclave on Oct. 10-12. Flyers will be sent out with more information soon.

Dave Coleman, our Events Chair, got stuck at the hospital so did not make it.  Still looking for event ideas. Wildflower tour will depend on the rains. There is still room on Al Moss's Palm Springs Weekend in June. There was an idea to visit the Chandler Museum and the Campbells offered to make the contact if need be.  Gof is in July and Jay Call has several ideas for tours (Channel Island NP and also a Death Valley tour).

Holiday party is set for Sunday, December 7th at the Sportsmans Lodge.

And then we broke for very yummy brownies and ice-cream brought by Fran Thelander.

We probably should give Ernie Page the long distance award. All the way from Scotland although he is staying in the States for bit.

Bill Motta among some of his prints

Bill Motta donated one of his prints for a raffle and the winner was Bill Stone. The Guild made $150 on the raffle.

Alan Campbell, Jon Lutz, Pete Thelander
and Harvey shootin' the breeze.

Everyone was listening to Bill.
