September 23rd, Tuesday
TC Motoring Guild General Meeting

After everyone had mingled and wandered through the museum we began our meeting at 8:26 pm. Outside was one lone TC driven by Larry Haile. President Stan was overseas so VP Ron took the steering wheel. No mail bag today as Harvey Schnaer did not make it to the meeting due to, I believe, a plumbing leak at home.

Reading of the minutes were waived as they were in the recent Midget Chassis. Next up was Joyce giving us a treasures report of $6,516 in funds available but about $3,041 of that being spoken. That gives us $3,485 left to use. Joyce also indicated that our membership is up to 96 memberships now with the inclusion of Dr. Don Bailey and his son, Mike. They had originally sent dues in late 2000 but somehow never were officially added to our membership. We are counting them as members now though.

Gordon Glass indicated that our next meeting would be the Halloween Bash. Costumes not required but there would be a prize for the best ones. Semi pot luck dinner proceeds meeting so we begin at 7:00 at our usual Montrose Citi Bank meeting room.

Our events chair, Dave Coleman, said the Conclave was just around the corner. Bob Wilmer's report was given via David Edgar since Bob was not able to make the meeting. Meet at the Denny's (use to be the Ranch House Restaurant) located at the Magic Mountain turn off in Valencia. Meet at 8:00 and be ready to roll out at 8:30. There are 49 people signed up so will be a nice showing. Even Doug & Ilene Wimer are coming out from Utah. Picnic lunch will be in Pixley.

Al Moss needs attendees to send in their money for the Palm Springs event on Nov. 6th. David gave accommodation rates and tour rate.

Gordon Bundy gave an excellent description of the Kinetic Race Tour we had earlier. Everyone had a most excellent time and it would be fun to do again next year. Thank you to Gene Olson, our leader, for a great time.

The topic of the Santa Barbara weekend that we decided to couple together with the Duk Kup Kite Fly in February hit a small snag. Seems February is one of the wettest months. Discussion tabled for now.

We were reminded to save the December 7th date open for our Holiday Party held at the Sportsmen's Lodge. The club is subsidizing the party with $800 of the profits from last years auction at party. Dinner costs will be a reasonable $20 each.

With no other business we adjourned the business part of the meeting to chit chat and look around. David Simon then gave a very nice talk on his auto collection and tricks learned when renting out cars for movie productions.

Lee Ashenfelter also on a rare appearance

David Simon fills us in on his collection.
Larry Haile who drove his TC to meeting and Ann listen on
as does Lee Ashenfelter and Gordon Bundy

We sat among many fine automobiles

And motorcyles too.
