TC Motoring Guild
General Meeting and Picnic

The early evening was absolutely perfect for our annual picnic/meeting at Tony & Cindy’s home. Members arrived slowly and did the usual kibitzing and catching up. Touring Tony’s garage was popular as well as viewing the toy room and Elvis collectables in their house. There were 35 in attendance for the evening. Alas though, evidently the weather was not perfect enough to bring out the TCs as only two made the scene (Einhorn’s and Edgar’s).
Stan Belland reported that arrangements for the Conclave were going smoothly. He was working on a diabolical tour for us too.
Only two TC's made it to the meeting. Where were all the others - collecting dust?
Now doesn't this look like more fun than driving a power windowed luxury box?

We eventually all sat around the garden to eat our dinners. Our President, Gene Olson, was in South Dakota on vacation, so at 8:43, VP Ron Simon, called the meeting to order. Ron said we didn’t have any mail but Harvey said he had put it on the side table but there was nothing exciting. Minutes of the last meeting was in the Midget Chassis and no one piped up with corrections so they stood. Joyce reported that we are still holding at 98 members for the year. We have a total of $8,193.75 in the bank but $3701.17 of that was budgeted expenses leaving $4492.58 unemcumbered.
George Kershaw was asked for future meeting programs. He reported that in August that we were having a Nostalgia II night in honor of our 50th year as a club. Some movies of early club events will be shown and everyone is encouraged to bring other old treasures regarding the club. September will be our Simon Auto Museum night. October, our traditional dinner and costume night. November is still open and December is our Holiday Party.

Here are the friends and the Romans. Where are the countrymen?
Gordon Glass and Bill Young thought this was a luau and wore their Hawaiian shirts.

Jay Call said he was working on a 2 day weekend event for August. Probably centered around Temecula and to include some wineries and possibly Mt. Palomar. Flyer to come out when details are better known.

Cindy showed us the latest artwork for our car badges and pins based on the discussion from our June meeting. With the exception of the brake drum color (change from green to black) the design was approved after discussion and an actual prototype will be made up next. We decided to go with ordering 100 car badges and 200 pins. The extra money we have in the bank will cover the order costs.

It was mentioned that our Dec 11 Holiday Party date was during Hanukkah. If there was a way to avoid that it would be nice.

Meeting was adjourned at 9:07 pm and we then kibitzed some more.

Minutes submitted by Secretary, Dave Edgar

Lloyd, Jay and George wade over the merits of butterflies (butterfly valves that is).

Jackie Call, Annabel Goldstein and Joyce Edgar
Stan Roman questions Tony about his '32 Lincoln.
Stan & Esther Belland had their daughter and two grandsons with them.
Are Ron, Joe and Tony discussing the exchange of recipes or fuel pumps?
How is this for a door prize? Tony had this cut out from some brass and stood about a foot tall. This was won by Larry Haile. Sharon Goodman won an MG note pad made up by Cindy to mount on a refrigerator.
A large cactus in the back yard was full of flower buds. Cindy had told us, once the sun goes down the blooms would fully open, and they sure did.
