Twas another rainy night which caused traffic to back up and
members to arrive late at the meeting but we all made it and
settled in to discuss business at 8:15. Our guest speaker, Carl Cederstrand called in and
said he was still stuck in traffic about 35 miles way though.
Minutes of last meeting were in the Midget Chassis and no
corrections were brought up so were accepted.
Joyce reported we had $7,433.88
in funds with $3,943.66 of that as budget expenditures so have
$3,490.22 left to play with. Membership renewals are progressing
nicely with 92 signed up for 2005 now.
Lloyd reported on future meeting
programs. April will be our Hobby Nite and May will be a Talk-around
on how you got your TC, and/or any funny stories related to ownership
over the years. June will be the return of the parking lot car
show, our traditional picnic in July, Simon Auto Museum in September
and Halloween bash in October. Still open are August and November.
Pete said he would have to miss
the May meeting as he would be just returning from Scotland.
Ernie Page is also expected to be
coming to the States about then as well.
The Commemorative Air Force Museum tour on March 19th got
rained out. Actually it did not rain but the threat scared everyone
off except for Ron Simon (the only
one to show up at the starting point).
Planning for the Goodman party is going well. A motion was
made to spend $10 per person plus $100 for cake & award (up
to a maximum of $700 total) to cover cost of food, beverage,
award and such. Motion was seconded and passed oral vote.
It was mentioned that the Rolling British Car Day was being
held on April 17th. All are welcomed to join in. It is basically
a tour of San Diego North County area.
May 13-14 is the Moss Buttonwillow extravaganza. If enough
TC's show up a TC only track tour may occur.
Mention of a Death Valley Motoring Guild tour was brought
up. There seems to be interest so will see about making a weekend
event out of it.
The Conclave this year will be at Sequoia. Pete and Gene researched
out places to stay and said the new Wuksachi Lodge in the park
looks like the best place to stay. Members present at meeting
agreed.
We do not have a venue for the Holiday Party yet but December
10 is the date as it avoids other known parties and holidays.
Joyce is looking in San Diego area. There was agreement that
the same venue as the last time in San Diego was OK.
Our guest speaker finally made it to the meeting with the
Kershaws. We adjourned the meeting
for refreshments so Carl could set up. Refreshments of several
varieties of delicious pies were brought by Carolyn
Hendrickson (Thank you Carolyn).
