General Meeting Minutes

As our president was in the process of returning from a trip to Scotland, VP, Ron Simon took charge and brought us to order to begin the night's meeting at 8:11 p.m.

The usual magazines and newsletters in our mail were displayed.

Minutes from previous meeting were in the Midget Chassis. No corrections were noted.
Treasurer/Membership report put us with $6,525.39, of which $2,964.22 is not spoken for. Membership rose to 98 members with the addition of Steve & Linda Simmons out of Woodland Hills. They recently bought TC 8975 from someone in the Vintage MG Club.

Meeting program for this evening is our TC Memories Night. A Parking Lot Car Show will come in June along with some radio control car fun. July is our traditional picnic at the Henkels (celebrate our 50th year of incorporation), and September is at the Simon Auto Museum. The Costume Night and Halloween Dinner is scheduled for October leaving August and November still open at this time.

Events: The tour out to the Moss Buttonwillow event did not pan out. June 11, is the Petersen Museum tour together with VMG. May also work out a Cherries tour in June. GoF is the big event in July while a Nethercutt Museum facilities tour is set for sometime in September. Of course October is our Conlcave (Oct 7-9). Gene Olson is also looking at participating in any Montrose events in celebration of our 50 year anniversary.

Joyce Edgar again reminded everyone to hold December 10th open as that is our Holiday Party and will be in San Diego this year. She also thought it would be helpful to increase our budgeted support from $1000 to $1200 to get the dinner price down. A motion was made, seconded and passed by a vote.

Gordon Glass mentioned that the last Midget Chassis brought back some memories. In the race programs was the name Jack Early, a fellow he went to school with and was one of the first to race a TC in the states (along with friend Phil Hill). Jack also raced his motorcycles and even worked in movies (was the stand in for Elizabeth Taylor in the distant riding shots). Gordon promised to write up a story on Jack for us.

We then adjourned at for refreshments. Refreshments were brought by Gene Olson.

Thank You!
