Donut Man and

Tour
July 13, 2002

We all met at the Henkels home and everyone caught up on how everyone else was doing.

And the tour begins. We had seven TCs, a Spyder replicar, and a couple "other types".

Larry gives us a wave.

The line of TCs consisted of: Tony & Cindy Henkels, Ron & Bobbie Simon, Harvey Schnaer & Jay Call, Gordon & Mimi Glass, David & Joyce Edgar and then Larry & Kay Einhorn. Art Ludwick and TC were waiting at the donut shop. Jon & Betsy Lutz were in their Spyder with Allan & Linda Chalmers, Bob & Annabel Goldstein, Bob & Charlotte Wilmer and Sarah Ludwick in "other types."

Jay Call gets his first big ride in a TC. He just bought one but only has driven it from the auto carrier up the driveway and into the garage.

Larry got the Edgars in his camera sights.

Art met us at the Donut Man shop with his beautiful TC parked out front and then led us over to the park after we had each ordered our favorites.

Sarah arrived early at the park and saved us some shady tables. What a great time we had under the oak trees. And all those donuts we each got at the shop were compliments of Sarah. The shop would not take our money but did encourage us to load up because Sarah was going to settle up later.

Thank you Sarah

Art Ludwick volunteers his TC for the days breakdown. Gordon Glass and Ron Simon take their positions.

Jay Call and Alan Chalmers lend some additional muscle. Jay now wonders if buying a TC was a smart move.

Let's give this a tweak and that a tap.

Humm . . . that didn't work. Let's try
the "Hands-on-hips, and stare-at-it" cure.
Turns out it was vapor lock and waiting was the actual cure.

 The Guild takes the
tram around the
Arboretum.

Almost as classy
as a TC isn't it?

OK, maybe not as classy but more comfortable.

Our tour leader Cindy Henkels did a spectacular job getting everything ready for the tour. She had printed up full color maps and directions so nobody would get lost. She visited all our stops ahead of time to work out logistics and timing. Of course the Guild marches to its own drum, and Cindy adapted. Only she knew how far off schedule we were and constantly adjusted.

Thank you Cindy

for guiding us through a wonderful TC day.

If you missed this tour, shame on you. But then there is always next time.
The annual Conclave in October is the next major event
but maybe a smaller one will pop up before then. Be ready!!!
