April 2006
Hollywood Hills Drive

Mel Appell seems to have grabbed the prime parking spot at the N. Hollywood start. Notice lone GT in background, one of the few, non-T types on the run.

It looks a bit complicated, but we're all experienced navigators, right?

A surprisingly large group of MG-T enthusiasts gathered this April for, of all things, a tour of the Hollywood Hills. Since many of us are local So Cal natives, one would think that few would be interested. Wrong! Over twenty cars gathered at the home of Evan Humphreys for a delicious brunch and lively fraternization between members of the Vintage MG Club and the TC Motoring Guild.

After a gorgefest of bacon, eggs and pastries, a pleasant, afternoon caravan tour followed, meandering through the winding lanes of Griffith Park and the old, seldom visited Hollywood Hills historic neighborhoods.

And what could top off a day of nostalgia better than a burger and fries at the Toluca Lake Bob's. Unfortunately, there were no "car hops" available, but it was fun anyway.

Rallymaster, Evan Humphreys, reviews the driving instructions for the event. The only error was caught at the start. No harm; no foul.

From a vantage point in the Thelander TC, the line up of T Types is impressive. Photo by Fran?

A rare photo-op with a view of the Hollywoood sign in the background.
