Rallymaster, Steve Simmons briefs drivers in La Canada at the start of the run up Angeles Crest Highway.

Kay and Larry Einhorn and other tourers rendezvous at Red Box, the turnoff to the Mt. Wilson observatory.

T type owners from both clubs line up at the Mt. Wilson observatory's public parking area.

Appells, Crandalls, Joe Douglass and unidentified yellow TC bring up the rear.

Steve and Linda lead the final VIP leg, past the "Authorized Vehicles Only" signs.................

.................to the lot at the base of the famous 100" telescope where our guide, Mike Simmons, waits to start the tour.

Our tour included an upclose look at the huge 100" telescope. The lower part containing the mirror is seen above.

"If you'll look outside, you'll see the sky pass by as we stand still." Or something like that?

"Hurry up and look. This thing's getting heavy!"

After our tour of the big telescope, the group was divided in two for visits to the solar telescope and the site's antique generator.

After comfortable A.M. temps, only the 5000' plus altitude saved us from the hot P.M. sun.

Charlotte Wilmer and Norma Crandall rest in the shade near the 60" telescope building.
