August 25 at 11:00 AM: TCMG Goodwill Car Display
Edgar’s are organizing a Car Display for the benefit of residents of the San Diego Post Acute Center, 1201 S. Orange Ave., El Cajon, CA. Members are asked to come on by on their way to GOF, display your cars and talk to the facility residents. Even those of you not driving your TC can display your “fun” ride. Joyce expects at least one Miata and a Lotus 7 for sure. The facility activities director is trying to bring more interesting activities to his residents and thinks the men especially will be excited to see our cars. He will be closing off their parking lot and having sufficient staff on hand to bring out all interested residents. Many of the people living there will enjoy a change to the routine and visiting with someone new.
Joyce expects the display to last about an hour. All participants will have an opportunity to win a gift certificate from Rock Auto, and after the show will enjoy a mini tour, caravanning approximately 2 miles to a location where lunch will be provided. GOF check in is available on Sunday, August 24th and on Monday, but the hotel check in isn’t until 4 pm. Members are welcome to kick back with the Edgar family until then. The extra garage they built is about one mile from the lunch location and tours can be arranged if there is interest. To make sure we are prepared when parking cars in the display area and to have sufficient food for lunch, Joyce would like everyone to RSVP by August 15th. Contact Joyce if you have questions. Email is easiest: firstname.lastname@example.org or use contact information in the directory or inside cover of the newsletter for additional contact information.
