Bought the TC in 1971 and restored it while stationed in California. Used the TC as daily transportation for many years. When it needed restoration again it was put into storage for about 20 years until I retired. I am now begun work on it looking to make it a good driver. Plan on putting a 5 speed and VW steering in it.

Pete & Fran Thelander
Westminster, CA

Bought the TC in '74 with the engine in a basket with the intent to assemble the engine and sell the car for a nice profit. It was a year before I got the engine together and the car on the road. Drove it for six years before undertaking the cosmetic work in 1981. The engine is near stage three with 9.25:1 compression ratio, large valves and +0.060" bore. It became a member of the family and is not for sale.

Gene Wescott
Playa Del Rey, CA

The Blue TC was originally black. In Jan 1959 there was a major engine overhaul, and the car was painted Mercedes Benz cream. In 1967 an oil line was lost, necessitating another major engine job. Bill Monroe repainted the car a bright red. I bought it in Oregon and drove and ferried it to Alaska. I had it painted blue in 1976 after driving it to Long Beach for a GoF. Blue TC was originally registered in England on 10 Sept. 1947, and issued license KMM 552, which is still on the car. Known owners and history as follows:

9 July, 1948 George Branston, Walthamston, Essex
2 Nov 1948 Fredrick Thomas Kilgore, Totenham, Middlesex.
30 Sept 1966 Michael Pearson, Enfield Middlesex
10 May 1967 Roy Leslie Herbert, London
July 1968 Bill Monroe, Astoria Oregon
July 1974 I bought it from Bill
