meetings

potteryOur next monthly meeting on July 28 will feature a special presentation by TCMG member Sandra Loe on making custom pottery. Examples will be on hand to examine, and Sandra will describe the process, tools and materials used in her creations.

The Henkel’s Picnic meeting in June was enjoyed by 39 members and guests, with five TCs driven by Buckeridge, Loe, Ratnayake, Simmons and Spiegel.  Also present in a classic was Dave Reid in his XK-150, and of course our hosts showing their all original  XK-120 and 1928 Lincoln.

events

uss-iowaContinue your patriotic celebration beyond Independence Day with a tour of the historic battleship USS Iowa! Now docked in San Pedro, the Iowa is open to visitors. We will experience a guided tour of the ship and learn of its dramatic and important history in protecting our nation.

Lunch will follow the event at a nearby restaurant. Cost for USS Iowa tour tickets, as well as parking fees and locations can be found by clicking here. Online purchases get a $2 discount per ticket.

Meet at the entrance to the ship at 10:00 AM.  Lunch after the tour will be at Nikos, 399 West 6th Street, San Pedro.  Click here for the restaurant menu.  Nikos is half a mile from the ship so you can leave your car where it is, or park in the lot across from the restaurant.

Early June Recap: 32 members and guests along with six TCs took part in our VIP tour of Mount Wilson Observatory. See the July newsletter for full coverage of the event!

Late June Recap: 27 members and 3 guests along with 11 TCs (plus one TD) took part in GoF West at Rohnert Park. Several other members were registered as “in spirit” but not present.  See the August newsletter for full coverage of the event!
