Happy 60th Birthday TCMG! The TC Motoring Guild was conceived on June 19, 1954 when a group of like-minded TC enthusiasts met at the offices of Road & Track to draw up the articles for a new, TC-only car club. The articles became official on July 27, 1955, and in September of 1957 our first annual conclave was held with the Abingdon Rough Riders of Northern California. Who knew that after six decades the club would still be going strong and with some of its early founding members still active! Special thanks to Tony and Cindy Henkles for another great picnic / meeting. 37 Members were in attendance with five TCs plus a spattering of other classics.
Events: Our August event will be hosted by TCMG members Kay and Larry Einhorn. We will start w
ith a visit to the Disney Barn in Griffith Park,
followed by a scenic drive to the Hollywood sign and then along the length of Mulholland Drive, ending at the Einhorn residence for an unforgettable hot dog lunch. See the Einhorn’s collection of Disney items and many other very interesting artifacts, and eat hot dogs served from a real New York hot dog cart! See the Calendar Page for more event info.
The July event to Mullin Museum and brunch at the Simmons’ residence was enjoyed by 27 TCMG members with 7 TCs in attendance.
Conclave: Our annual conclave will take place October 4-6 at The Apple Farm in San Luis Obispo. Rooms at the hotel vary greatly in price, so to ensure a low room rate be sure to book as early as possible!
Enjoy a driving tour, banquet dinner, and other special events in a wonderful setting. Private, TC-only parking will be available at the hotel along with our own welcome / hospitality room and catered banquet right on the hotel grounds.
