Of Men and Cars – Pebble Beach Concours D’Elegance

This article was written and published in a 1967 edition of Game & Gossip Magazine by TCMG founding member Frank Mason.  It was submitted here by member Ed Pohle who participated in the 1967 Pebble Beach Concours D’Elegance with his MG TC.  Frank Mason was a judge at the event and Ed recalls Frank asking him to start the engine.  He also notes that it was the one and only time he met Frank, and never knew Frank was such a factor in the TCMG or in TCs for that mater. However if it hadn’t been for Frank, Ed doubts very much he would have picked up another first place as when on the ramp to receive the trophy the official thanked him for participating etc., but also asked him to come back with a different car next time!

A photo of Frank Mason judging a TC (presumably Ed’s) can be seen in the upper right on page two.
