2018 Conclave Is Coming!
Our annual conclave with Abingdon Rough Riders will take place October 12-14 at Narrow Gauge Inn in Fish Camp, near Yosemite. Our host hotel is now full but there are still rooms available at our overflow location at “Best Western Yosemite Gateway Inn” in Oakhurst. Make your reservations now! New Embroidered Hoodie Sweaters
Our popular TCMG hoodie zip-up sweat shirts are now being embroidered at no additional cost! Both regular and lightweight versions now feature high quality embroidered logos and can be seen on our regalia page.
Our September meeting will be held on the 25th at our usual Studio City location. The evening’s entertainment will include a once lost video entitled “Rally Round”. This video comedy was made during the 18th Annual San Diego Double Day event in 1989 and was shot by Gayne and Doug Wimer with help from several other TCMG members. It depicts a “typical” navigational rally of the time and stars many long-time TCMG personalities, many who are still members today. See the exploits of Belland, Bundy, Chalmers, Coleman, Crandall, Lutz, Roth, Schnaer, Simon, Wilmer and Wimer as they compete to win in this totally oddball production recently re-discovered and digitized by Allan Chalmers. Also included are lots of outtakes and behind the scenes footage that are just as entertaining as the video itself!
August Recap: 19 members and guests were present for our August meeting at the Simon museum. Four TCs were present – Simmons, Edgar, Simon (Ron) and Simon (Dave). A huge thanks to all of the Simons for opening their museum, and to Dave for giving us a fun and fascinating celebrity history on the various cars in the collection.
