Annual Summer Picnic in New Location

The TCMG Annual Summer Picnic, held at the Henkels home for 23 years, is moving this year to the Simmons residence. Details can be found on the Calendar Page as well as in upcoming newsletters.

History Project Underway

Boxes of historical documents and artifacts dating back to the 1950’s and not seen in many years have recently been unearthed from the archives. A project to sort and preserves these items is scheduled to begin this month. Look to future newsletters for interesting discoveries as the project develops.

Our June Zoom meeting will be held on Tuesday the 27th at 6:00 PM. Stay tuned for further details.

May recap: 24 Members attended our May meeting on Zoom.  Four TCs were driven 10 or more miles in a simulated journey to the meeting by Edgar, Lemieux, Loe and S. Simmons.

For more meeting and event information, visit the Calendar Page.

Monthly Events

The annual Summer Picnic will take place on Saturday, June 24 at the Simmons Residence. Bring a picnic lunch or dinner and dine in the garden, tour the collection of vintage cars and enjoy the company of fellow TC aficionados.

Entertainment will include:

  • Bring a picnic dinner and dine in the garden with your fellow enthusiasts (dessert and drinks will be served by the hosts)
  • Tour the garage and collection of cars
  • Win mystery prizes in our mystery contests (TCs only!)
  • Rumor has it the newly completed Buckeridge TC may be on display

Those driving TCs or other interesting classics will get VIP parking in the gravel area by the entrance.

PLEASE RSVP so we are sure to have enough seating for everyone.  Invitations have been sent to all members signed up for local mailings, and an email invitation was sent to the group.  If you did not receive this information, contact Steve Simmons.

April Recap: 22 members and guests driving 8 TCs took part in the 2023 Joe Douglass Memorial Wildflower Tour in April. TCs were driven by Edgar, Lemieux, Loe, Simmons, Zucca, Mathison, Ellis and Hughes (display only, not driven). Thanks to Michael & Wanda Hughes for opening up their garage and yard for a picnic lunch and garage tour!

Monthly DIY Tours

In honor of our Summer picnic this month moving from Pasadena, home of JPL, to Thousand Oaks, home of… well… oaks, your task is to photograph your TC with one of the following:

1. Something aerospace, aeronautical, etc.
2. The most grandiose, large or otherwise impressive tree (or tree-like object) you can find.

Send your photo(s) to Joyce Edgar by June 21st, and be sure to drive at least 5 miles during your journey to receive a point toward the Sargent Award!
