TCMG Expands In-Person Activities

Since returning to in-person driving events in March, we have adapted to offer fun and safe activities for our members.  Scenic drives and picnics have become a common activity, which is reminiscent of the early days of the club.  Our faces may have aged a little over the years but the cars still look as young as ever!

On June 22, the first in-person meeting since the pandemic started was held at the Henkels home.  2020 was the first time this annual picnic was canceled since the first one over 25 years ago, but fortunately we were able to hold it again this year.  Further adapting to current events, we experimented with a live web broadcast of the meeting which went well.  Members who we not able, or not comfortable attending in person were able to talk to those at the picnic and see the TCs on display.

NOTE DATE CHANGE! Our general meeting on July 20 meeting will feature TCMG member Cliff Lemieux, who will be giving us a presentation on the restoration of his long-owned TC 6373.  Learn the trials and pitfalls of restoration, and why Cliff says you should never take your car apart!

The meeting starts at 6:00 PM (Pacific).  Members may join 15 minutes early.

Note that anyone making a simulated journey to the meeting in a TC by driving a minimum of 10 miles on the day of the meeting will receive a point toward the Sargent Award.

June recap: 33 Members participated in our Annual Henkels Picnic Meeting.  25 attended in person and 8 via Zoom.  5 TCs were driven, either to the meeting or in a simulated journey for Sargent points.  Those who drove were Lemieux, Loe, Ockwell, Hunsberger and Simmons.  Other classics to show in person were Gus Ramos in his TD, and Daniel Harrison with Myah in their MGA.
