January 25: General Meeting (ONLINE)
Program: “Member Projects”
Our first meeting of the year will be held January 25 on Zoom. Our program for the evening will feature our own members talking about their new year’s projects and what they hope to accomplish this year. Scheduled speakers a/o Jan. 15 include Daniel Harrison, Cliff Lemieux and Steve Simmons. If you would like to talk about your project, contact Joyce Edgar to sign up.
The meeting starts at 6:00 PM (Pacific). Members may join 15 minutes early.

February 12: Lame Duk Kup
Join us for the 2022 Lame Duk Rallye on January 43rd (February 12)! Test your powers of perception as you journey along roads less traveled. See the charming and rural areas of Old Topanga Canyon, Fernwood and Monte Nido while seeking answers to nefarious easy questions provided by your rally master. Answer wisely and win the coveted Lame Duk Trophy!
Please bring a pencil or pen so you can write down your answers as you travel the rallye route. A picnic lunch and awards ceremony will follow the rallye. Watch for a flyer in the mail for details on starting time and location.
February 12-20: DIY Driving Event
This is a bonus “do it yourself” driving tour, celebrating the Lame Duk Kup. Members wanting to participate need to drive their TC somewhere to get a duck-related photo with the TC in it. It can be a real duck, a sign with a duck on it, or anything else even remotely duck-related. Get creative and have fun!
A drive of at least 5 miles round trip in your TC is required to receive a point toward the 2022 Sargent Award. Photos must be submitted to Joyce Edgar by February 20.

February 22: General Meeting (ONLINE)
Program: “The Bowyer TC Collection”
The February meeting will be held on Zoom. Our program for the evening will be a presentation by TCMG member John Bowyer, who will be telling the stories of his three TCs and showing progress on restoration work in progress. Hear tales about driving a TC across the country in the middle of the energy crunch and other anecdotes.

March 20: Valley Relics
On Sunday, March 20, take a trip down memory lane with a visit to Valley Relics Museum in Van Nuys! The recently relocated and greatly expanded museum chronicles the history of the San Fernando Valley (where TCMG was formed) from the 1800’s through present day, focusing primarily on the urbanization and pop culture of the 1950’s through 80’s. The collection includes photographs, neon signs, cars, bicycles, old documents and more. Further info on this event including meeting time and location is available in the group email list. March 1-20: DIY Driving Event
Our March bonus event will run from March 1-20. To complete the event and receive a point toward the Sargent Award, participating members must drive their TC at least five miles and submit a qualifying photo to Joyce Edgar by the 20th.
The theme of this month’s bonus event is tied to our official driving event which visits Valley Relics Museum. To participate, choose one of the following keywords to base your photo on:

- Neon
Find something to photograph your TC with that relates to your chosen keyword, and email your photo by the 20th. Be creative, and most importantly have fun!
March 22: General Meeting (ONLINE)
Our next monthly meeting will be held March 22 on Zoom. Our program for the evening will be a competition to test your TC mechanical knowledge, hosted by Joyce Edgar. Join us and compete to gain international fame and win fabulous prizes!

April 1-22: DIY Driving Event
Since our planned Wildflower Tour this month has been canceled due to a lack of blooms, our bonus event will become an opportunity to find those missing flora and photograph them with your TC.
To participate and earn points toward the TCMG Sargent Award, drive your TC at least five miles and photograph it with flowers, or something to do with flowers, by April 22. Show off the Spring wildflowers in your area, or for those in colder climates maybe you have a favorite florist or something else flower-related. Just get those TCs out on the road and get creative!
Send your photo(s) to Joyce Edgar by April 22 to receive your participation points and have your photos included in the meeting presentation on Tuesday, April 26.
April 10: Queen’s English British Car Show (Not a TCMG Event)
One of the better British car shows in Southern California, Queen’s English attracts hundreds of British cars and features an autojumble. See www.queens-english.org for more details.
April 23: Picnic in the Pines
NOTE: The previously scheduled Wildflower Tour has been cancelled due to a lack of blooms.
Our April driving event will take us into the Angeles National Forest for a “Picnic in the Pines”. The route will feature scenic mountain roads and a visit to the first ranger station built in the forest, circa 1900. Bring a picnic lunch and some chairs and dine among “TCs and Tall Trees”.
We will gather at the parking area adjacent to the La Canada Flintridge City Hall/Olberz Park (intersection of Civic Center Drive & Town Center Drive) at 10:00 AM. After a little tire kicking we will drive 25 miles up Angeles Crest Highway to our picnic site. Seating is limited so bring chairs!
April 26: General Meeting (ONLINE)
Program: “From The Frame Up Tour”
Join us on April 25 for our monthly meeting featuring a live video tour of TCMG member Doug Pelton’s shop “From The Frame Up”. Doug will be showing us his facility and feature their current restoration projects. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to see behind the curtain and ask the questions you’ve always wondered about.
Those is attendance for the duration of the program will be entered to win a raffle for a $50 gift certificate from Doug’s shop!

May 1-21: DIY Driving Event
In keeping with the theme of our upcoming May driving event, the bonus event this month will feature Bees. Your task is to photograph your TC with something relating to bees. We’re looking for creativity more than literally finding bees. The bigger stretch of the imagination of how your photo relates to “bees”, the better! Note the quotes around the word. Think outside of the box here. Your photo doesn’t have to have anything to do with insects.
Also remember to drive at least five miles during your photo shoot to receive one point toward the Sargent Award!
Have fun, and submit your photos to Joyce Edgar by May 21st to have your photo included in the slide show at our meeting on the 24th.
May 24: General Meeting (ONLINE)
Our May meeting will once again feature the collection of TCMG member John Bowyer, this time with the focus on his Rolls Royce automobiles, most notably his coachbuilt Silver Wraith with body by Rippon Brothers of Huddersfield, England. Hear the fascinating story of how this car came to be in John’s collection and learn of its long history as well as the others he owns.

May 28: Heritage Valley Flora and Fauna Tour
On Saturday, May 28th, we will be heading north to the beautiful Heritage Valley for a day of gorgeous scenery, great driving roads and interesting destinations. We begin with a 30-mile scenic drive along smaller farm and country roads to our first stop, a real honey farm. Here you can sample various honey products fresh from the farm and see how they are made. Products are all available for purchase in the farm store.
Our second stop is at the largest rose farm and nursery in the area for a tour of their spectacular walking gardens. Then, a picnic lunch among the flowers. Pack a picnic chair just in case we run out of seating. This will be an afternoon in the country you won’t want to miss!

June 1-21: DIY Driving Event
As our main event this month is GoF West, to be held in California’s wine country, our Bonus Tour for June is themed to match. Being the 50th GoF West, and held among the country’s finest vineyards, your challenge is to photograph your TC with something related to “wine” or “50”. As always, creativity is encouraged. For example, misspellings happen.
To qualify for Sargent Award Points, you must drive your TC at least five miles during your photo journey. Send your photos to Joyce Edgar by June 25th for inclusion in our next online meeting.

June 21: General Meeting
The Summer Picnic Meeting at the Henkels home in Pasadena returns on June 21! Bring a picnic dinner and dine under the stars at this annual favorite. Dessert will be provided by our hostess. Those driving TCs or equally interesting classics (tall order) get preferred parking in the driveway. Meeting starts at 7:00 PM. Local members will receive an invitation in the mail. As a courtesy to our hostess Cindy Henkels, please be sure to RSVP.
June 27 – July 1: 50th Gof West 2022
This is a five day event that is not to be missed! MGs of all types gather at GoF West each year to celebrate the marque. Events include car show, funkhana, navigational rallye, arts and crafts competition, auction, banquet, and more. The event is scheduled to be held June 27 through July 1 in Buellton, California. There will be a club caravan to and from this event.

July 1-21: DIY Driving Event
To celebrate our country’s Independence Day, the theme of our DIY tour for July will be “All-American”. Your task is to photograph your TC (with or without you in it) with something that feels “all American” to you. Whether it’s historic or or contemporary, a patriotic symbol or something that says independence, the sky is the limit. Use your imagination and have fun!
To qualify for Sargent Award Points, you must drive your TC at least five miles during your photo journey. Send your photos to Joyce Edgar by July 21st for inclusion in our next online meeting.
July 26: General Meeting (ONLINE)
Join us for a fascinating presentation by TCMG member Rob Zucca. Rob will be showing parts of his extensive collection of Civil War era artifacts and memorabilia including uniforms, firearms and much, much more. You won’t want to miss this one!

August 1-20: DIY Driving Event
Keeping with the theme of our August driving event, the name of the game this month will be “Historic Homes”. Your task is to photograph your TC, with or without you in it, at a historic home or other building in your area. If you don’t have a historic building nearby, then pick any structure you like and make up a good story. The taller the tale, the better. Send your photo to Joyce Edgar by August 20 for inclusion in our online meeting on the 23rd. Also be sure to drive at least five miles during your photo shoot to receive a point toward the Sargent Award.
August 20: Dudley House Tour and Picnic
Our next driving event, to be held on August 20th, will take us on a cool coastal drive from our starting point in Malibu to our destination in Ventura. There we will be given a private guided tour of the historic Dudley House, circa 1892.
Details are still being worked out, so watch for a flyer in the mail with further details.
August 23: General Meeting (ONLINE)
The presenter for our August meeting is TCMG member Allan Chalmers. Allan will give a presentation on the six months he spend in Europe in 1965, with a heavy emphasis on car content.

September 1-23: DIY Driving Event
In keeping with the theme of our driving events, this month’s DIY tour theme is “Classic Cars”. Your task is to find a classic car to take photo of your TC with. The definition of “classic” is up to you, and your own cars don’t count! Drive at least five miles in your TC to get the photo and receive a point toward the Sargent Award. Submit your photo(s) to Joyce Edgar by 9/23 to receive credit.
September 16: Driving Event
Our September event will be held on Friday, September 16 at the Automobile Driving Museum in El Segundo. The museum hosts over 130 antique, vintage and muscle cars of all eras. There is also an old-fashioned ice cream parlor on the premises.

September 25 (Sunday): General Meeting (NOTE DATE CHANGE!)
“The Jackson TC & Ice Cream Social” (Please RSVP for this event!)
Please join us for an evening of TCs and Ice Cream at the home of Steve and Linda Simmons. Our program for the evening will be a presentation detailing the history and recent resurrection of TC6110, the former Barney Jackson TC, now owned by TCMG member Mike Simmons. Hear the history of this TC, how Barney came to enjoy it for 73 years, and what it took to return the car to the road after sitting dormant for decades. Also learn about the numerous modifications performed by its previous and current owners to make a better “TC driver”. The car will be on display at the meeting.
Tables will be set up, and members are welcome to bring a picnic dinner to enjoy in the garden before the meeting. After the business portion of the meeting, enjoy an old-fashioned Ice Cream Social, followed by our featured presentation. Private tables for social distancing are available with advance request.
All participants (including those on Zoom) will be entered in a raffle. Those arriving in TCs or other 60’s and earlier classics will have two chances to win! Watch for a flyer in the mail in early September with further details.

October 1-22: DIY Driving Event
Our DIY Tour for the month is themed to match the month and season. You task is to drive your TC and find something to photograph it with that goes with either “Halloween” or “Autumn”. Find something spooky or scary for Halloween (you define what scary is) or anything that epitomizes the Fall season. Drive at least five miles during your search to earn a point toward the Sargent Award. Send your photos to Joyce Edgar by October 22nd to qualify for Sargent points, and to have your photos included in the October meeting’s slide show.
October 8-10: 66th Annual TCMG / ARR Conclave
Don’t miss our premiere event of the year, the 66th Annual Conclave with the Abingdon Rough Riders! This year’s event will be held October 8-10 in Cambria, at the charming Bluebird Inn on Main Street. ARR is organizing this year’s event and have included the following information:
And we’re back! The conclave this year is returning to Cambria with a visit to Hearst Castle. The dates are October 8, 9 and 10th. We will have our welcome back libations of choice and treats on the patio the evening of the 8th. Sunday we will drive 10 miles along the coast to Hearst Castle for a group tour and return to Cambria. There may be time for a side trip to Nit Wit Ridge (look it up, it’s a caution.) There is also a nice drive up Santa Rosa Creek road out of Cambria to Linn’s Farm Store. It’s 6 miles of winding (slow going) road through the hills and have lots of goodies to look at. Sunday night there will be a banquet, details to follow. Monday return home. Line up will be Sunday at the Castle so people are free to return home early Monday morning. The room reservations include 6 queen rooms ($291.70 for both nights including taxes) 8 king rooms ($347.80 for both nights including taxes) and and 2 king deluxe ($448.78 for both nights including taxes). Call the Bluebird Inn (805-927-4634) for details and to make reservations. Mention the MG Car Club for these rates. See you there.
Additional information (added August 7): One of Sunday’s activities is a tour of Hearst Castle. Those planning to participate may book their tours starting on August 9th. Several tours are available so you can choose which one you would like to take. The conclave organizers suggest booking your tour at around 11AM so that all participants can start and finish at approximately the same time.

October 25: General Meeting (ONLINE)
Come prepared for a Halloween Themed TCMG TRIVIA quiz. Study the website, especially newer members. This can be fun; it can be spooky; it can be weird. But mostly it will be FUN and you may learn some things about your club and club members. This meeting will also include nominations for 2023 TCMG Executive Council.

November 20: VMG Parts Exchange
The 49th Annual VMG Parts Exchange will be held on Sunday, November 20 at 8530 Stanton Ave., Buena Park, CA 90622. The event runs from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. General Admission is $5.00. Vendor parking $30 plus $10 for each additional space. TCMG members in attendance please meet at 10:00 AM near the entrance to take a group photo with your best swap meet find!

November 15: General Meeting
NOTE MEETING DATE! 
Our meeting for November will take place one week earlier than normal due to the Thanksgiving holiday. This meeting will be held on Zoom, starting at 6:00 PM (Pacific). Members may join 15 minutes early.
The topic of our program is “LED Tail Lamp Conversion” and will be presented by TCMG member Curt Sorensen. Curt will discuss the parts and modifications necessary to perform this modification.

December 4: Annual Meeting and Holiday Party
The 2022 TCMG Holiday Party will take place on Sunday, December 4. This year’s party will be a BBQ-style luncheon held at the home of Steve & Linda Simmons. Join us and enjoy the following entertainment and activities:
- Awards ceremonies for our three prestigious trophies:
- Earl Sargent Memorial “Use it or lose it” Trophy
- Frank Mason Award
- Breakdown Award
- Announcement of the 2023 TC Motoring Guild Executive Council.
- Our annual tradition, auctioning of “The Brick”. This is a piece of the original Abingdon factory where our TCs were built. The wining bid takes the brick home for one year.
- Raffle where you can win fabulous prizes! Advance tickets sales available for Zoom attendees. In-person attendees may purchase in advance or at the party. Those who drive a TC to the meeting will get one free raffle ticket with their ticket purchase.
- Touring the Simmons’ collection of vintage cars.
- 50/50 drawing where you can win a pile of money! Bring cash to purchase 50/50 tickets.
- Special screening of a fully restored, high definition film showing the very first TCMG / ARR Conclave from 1957.
- Fundraiser and Toy Drive to benefit Foster Children’s Resource Center. The center provides emergency clothing and necessities to foster children referred by the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). It gives each child new school clothing, a jacket, pajamas, socks, underwear, personal care items, a backpack, school supplies, a book, and a toy. Each child is given personal attention and treated with dignity and respect, helping them to feel special. Bring a new, unwrapped toy or contact Joyce Edgar to make a cash donation. Toys needed most this year are for ages 4-8.
