TC Motoring Guild Rides Again!

TCMG motored back into action on February 12 with our first driving event of the new year, the 2022 Lame Duk Kup Rallye.  Drivers were challenged to find clues along scenic mountain roads and tried to outsmart the rallye master with their answers.  The team of Daniel Harrison and Myah Lunceford won top honors, taking home the Duck for the year. See the upcoming March newsletter for more info on this and other events.

New Monthly Bonus Events Announced

In addition to our regular driving events, each month this year will have a bonus “do it yourself” tour. These tours will be in the spirit of our main events, keeping with the theme of each month’s activity. Bonus tours will be announced in the first half of each month, so be sure to keep an eye on the club calendar for updates!

Each bonus tour will also count for one point toward the Sargent Award, but will not be required activities to win an Iron Bottom Award. We hope you participate!

meetings

Click to enlargeOur next monthly meeting will be held March 22 on Zoom.  Our program for the evening will be a competition to test your TC mechanical knowledge, hosted by Joyce Edgar.  Join us and compete to gain international fame and win fabulous prizes!

The meeting starts at 6:00 PM (Pacific).  Members may join 15 minutes early.

Note that anyone making a simulated journey to the meeting in a TC by driving a minimum of 10 miles on the day of the meeting will receive a point toward the Sargent Award.

February recap: 27 members attended our February meeting, held online. Seven TCs were driven at least 10 miles by Thelander, Edgar, S. Simmons, Loe, Hunsberger, Lemieux and M. Simmons (trailered it around town!). Special thanks to John Bowyer for a great presentation on the “TC Wing” of his collection.

Monthly Driving Events

NOTE: The previously scheduled Wildflower Tour has been cancelled due to a lack of blooms.

Our April driving event will take us into the Angeles National Forest for a “Picnic in the Pines”.  The route will feature scenic mountain roads and a visit to the first ranger station built in the forest, circa 1900.  Bring a picnic lunch and some chairs and dine among “TCs and Tall Trees”.

The rally point location and time will be announced soon.

March Recap: 13 members and guests with three TCs participated in our March event. TCs were driven by Loe, Simmons and Edgar.
